Automated Blister Cutting & Repackaging System

Home / Hospitals / Quality Assurance / Athos™ uniBOT

The industry’s premier universal floor-standing robotic system designed for fully automatic unit-dose packaging of any blister format, ampoule, and vial.

The Athos™ uniBOT

Ensuring 100% medication traceability while managing highly diverse drug packaging formats is one of the most complex challenges in hospital pharmacy Quality Assurance. The Athos™ uniBOT, designed and manufactured by APD, S.A. in Spain, is a high-performance, floor-standing robotic system engineered to fully automate this workflow.

By automatically identifying, cutting, and repackaging virtually any manufacturer blister card, ampoule, or vial into a clearly labeled unit-dose sachet, the Athos™ uniBOT eliminates labor-intensive manual processes, optimizes pharmacy resources, and guarantees maximum safety from the inventory shelf to the patient’s bedside.

Experience the Versatility of Universal Robotic Repackaging

Achieve total workflow autonomy and complete clinical safety with a computer-controlled system built for heavy-duty hospital logistics.

The uniBOT is the only automatic cutting and repackaging system capable of processing almost any pharmaceutical format available. It seamlessly packages oral solid tablets and capsules, bulk oral medications, as well as liquid ampoules and vials.

Offers up to 4.5 hours of completely autonomous operation at full load. This allows hospital pharmacists and technicians to focus on clinical validation and patient care without needing to constantly monitor or feed the machine.

The system features integrated 1D/2D barcode scanners and RFID readers to automatically identify blister packs, vials, and ampoules before processing. Every finished unit-dose pouch is printed with a unique code, batch control details, and expiration dates.

Highly versatile, the system can automatically cut any blister format or accept bulk drugs poured directly into a specialized hopper.

Precision mechanical cutting and high-quality pouch sealing ensure that the medication’s original manufacturer-specified conservation conditions and expiration dates are perfectly maintained.

Equipped with a user-friendly touchscreen interface to easily monitor active packaging runs, manage templates, and review real-time system diagnostics.
